Even though the star hasn’t been with us since 1979, John Wayne remains a cultural icon whose appeal crosses generations. Wayne Enterprises’ mission is to preserve and protect the name, likeness and image of John Wayne. Since 2004, Milkshake has worked to increase the visibility of the brand and bring out the true grit of John Wayne and develop a fresh, authentic look for the Duke exposes his legend to younger generations.
The John Wayne Cancer Foundation, founded in 1985 to bring strength, courage and grit to the fight against cancer, asked Milkshake to develop a way to build community around the goal of fighting cancer.
Milkshake created Team DUKE as an extension of the JWCF brand, a grassroots athletic fundraising program that allows participants to set a goal for themselves in any sport and event, while promoting the “grit” mindset and raising funds for cancer through their own Team DUKE website.
